A previously convicted sex offender from Williams County sentenced to federal prison.

While on parole for another offense, a previously convicted sex offender from Williams County was sentenced to federal prison for acts involving child sexual assault.  U.S. District Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick sentenced 39 year old James McGregor, of Montpelier, to 20 years in prison following his guilty plea to Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography, or Child Sexual Abuse Materials in February. In addition, he was mandated to spend 20 years of supervised release following his incarceration. He must register as a sexual offender following his incarceration.
