Bowling Green Post investigating fatal crash involving two vehicles.

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles that occurred today at approximately 1:58 p.m. on State Route 579 milepost 1 in Lake Township, Wood County. The preliminary investigation showed a Jeep Wrangler, operated by Aaron Stoldt, 46, Toledo, was eastbound on State Route 579. A 2014 GMC Acadia, operated by Nickelle Lee, 28, Toledo, was also eastbound on State Route 579. Stoldt failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck Lee’s vehicle in the rear. Stoldt’s vehicle then traveled off the north side of the roadway and overturned. Stoldt succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
