Fire destroys Hicksville home Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, a house on the northwest edge of Hicksville was completely destroyed by fire.  Firefighters from Hicksville were dispatched to 523 N. Main Street.  At 1:38 p.m. on Saturday, the Sherwood and Farmer Township fire departments provided automatic mutual aid assistance. The front of the house was on fire when firefighters arrived.  An investigator from the Ohio State incident Marshal’s Office was called in to assist in determining the cause of the incident.   The house was occupied by three people, all of whom were able to leave. They needed temporary lodging, so the American Red Cross was called in.  Antwerp firefighters were asked to supply manpower. After firefighters left the site, preventative tape was used to wrap the house for safety.
