Kelleys Island officials urging locals and visitors to exercise caution.

Following over 16 inches of rain on the island, which flooded yards, roads, and portions of the village’s water system, Kelleys Island officials are urging locals and visitors to exercise caution going forward.  In just a few hours, some parts of the lakeshore experienced eight to fifteen inches of rain, according to meteorologists. One meteorological sensor on Kelleys Island recorded about 16 inches of rain in the last 24 hours, which is more than half of the island’s typical annual rainfall.
