Just days before the county fair is scheduled to open for the week, water to the Lucas County Fairgrounds was turned off owing to a bacterial problem; however, officials have issued the “all clear” after this. Anita Lopez, the Lucas County Commissioner, verified that the water had been turned off prior to the city of Toledo’s test results. Lopez affirmed that the water is safe and that the second sample of those results had passed as of Sunday am. According to a City of Maumee official, backflow precautions prevent any problems at the fairgrounds from affecting the city’s water main.
