Ohio State Highway Patrol will host “one-stop testing” event for prospective applicants.

On May 28, the Ohio State Highway Patrol will host a “one-stop testing” event for prospective applicants at the Toledo Post, located at 3333 Dorr Street, Toledo. The Patrol is actively seeking driven, service-minded individuals. Transform Your Talents into a career that serves and protects the people of Ohio. Whether you’re a natural leader, skilled communicator, technology enthusiast, or someone with a passion for helping others, the Patrol offers a path for you to turn your strengths into purpose. The event begins at 9 a.m., where interested candidates will have the opportunity to talk with troopers about a career of service, complete an application, take the written test, and then move directly into the physical fitness assessment – all in one visit. Those planning to attend should wear business casual attire and bring appropriate physical fitness clothing and shoes. This “one-stop testing” opportunity allows prospective applicants to complete the first stages of the process and move forward toward securing a spot in the 181st Academy Class, which begins in September. To be eligible, applicants must: • Be between the ages of 20 and 39 • Be a U.S. Citizen • Possess a high school diploma or GED • Have a valid driver’s license For questions regarding this opportunity, contact Trooper Dalton Surbey at (419) 9579569 or DMSurbey@dps.ohio.gov. The Patrol also offers a ride-along program and those interested are encouraged to contact their local OSHP post to schedule a ride-along with a trooper during their shift. You can submit an application anytime here or text “JoinOSHP” to (614) 654-OSHP to get started.
