Plans to solve Ohio EPA wastewater fix for region northwest of Defiance reviewed by Defiance Co. Commissioners.

Plans to solve an Ohio EPA wastewater fix for a region northwest of Defiance were reviewed by Defiance County commissioners at their Monday meeting.  Raw sewage from 15 or 16 houses along State Route 15, which is across from the Defiance County Airport, has been identified as the problem. Raw sewage was found in a ditch that eventually drains into the Tiffin River, and their house sewage systems empty into a shared tank.  According to the Defiance County Health Department, the backlog problem was resolved by jetting a common tile. However, according to health department authorities, the treatment problem still exists because not all of the systems are operational.
