Williams County Commissioners approve filing an application to the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program for an asbestos abatement project for the fourth floor of the county courthouse The total cost of the asbestos abatement project is estimated at $289,975 dollars. Testing has shown there are environmental hazards related to asbestos-bearing materials on the courthouse’s fourth floor, including in and around the commissioners’ former offices and meeting and storage rooms. Commissioners and staff moved out of the courthouse fourth floor at the end of 2021 into temporary offices at the county East Annex office building on East High Street while the project is underway.
