71 Year Old Margaret Camp Charged With Attempted Murder

Four people were indicted by a Defiance County grand jury last week on separate first-degree felonies, including one woman who was hit with an attempted murder charge involving her son. 71 year old Margaret Camp is now officially charged with attempted murder, that’s a first-degree felony, plus felonious assault, a second-degree felony. The charges against her come following an incident back in March, when she allegedly shot her own son, 45 year old Gus Camp, at their Hicksville home with a .38 caliber revolver. Gus Camp was shot in the abdomen, and was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He has since recovered and is no longer in the hospital, but he still has health issues related to the shooting, which apparently happened following a verbal argument between the two. Meanwhile, he no longer lives with his mother, who is free on a $100,000 cash bond.
