90-Year Old Woman Dies From Exposure

On Monday, the snow stopped falling, but the wind picked up.

20 mile per hour wind gusts and –30 degree wind chills made travel extremely dangerous… and deadly.

A Wauseon woman has died because of the record cold.

Police say 90 year old Virginia McFeters was found dead, face down in the snow on Monday morning about 150 feet from her car, which was found stuck in her driveway.

She was taken by ambulance to the Fulton County Health Center, where she was pronounced dead

Officials say the temperatures are the lowest that have been seen in our area in more than a decade.

Actual temperature readings have been in the minus 10 to minus 15 degree range, with wind chills making it feel more like minus 30 to minus 40.

Temperatures in the region today are expected to “warm up” to around zero.
