Connie J. Courtney, age 67, of Springfield, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, February 6, 2016.
She was born in Bryan, Ohio on April 19, 1948, the daughter of Darrell E. and Kathryn Betty (Shinabarger) Thorp. She was a 1966 graduate of Bryan High School and attended Bowling Green State University, majoring in early childhood education. She was a member of Heritage Fellowship Church, Springfield. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Thorp of Bryan, Ohio; husband of 48 years, Terry L. Courtney; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lois Courtney of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Courtney; three brothers, Gary (Anita) Thorp, Randy (Carol) Thorp and Rob (Toni) Thorp; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Springfield, Ohio. Connie’s funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer, Ohio.
