Mary Margaret Fleagle, age 92, of Evansport, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.
She was born in Williams County on August 23, 1920, the daughter of Aubrey and Frances (Hall) Replogle. On October 22, 1939 she married Lorrain “Joe” Fleagle, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1974. Mary is survived by four daughters, Kay (Bob) Stenzel of Waterville, Patricia Chamberlain of Bryan, Sally (Bob) Davis of Stryker, and Connie (Walt) Iler of Defiance; one sister, Gonda Shade of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian; one brother, Francis “Gene”; son-in-law, Donald Chamberlain; and one great-grandson, Blake Wyse.
Mary was a member of the Evansport United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist there for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Women’s Society of the Church and worked on Church suppers, but her love was coordinating music for special occasions and Sunday services. Mary was also a cook at the former Red Rooster Restaurant in Stryker for a time, after her husband died.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Evansport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Becky Ploughe, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evansport Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evansport United Methodist Church from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 3, 2013. Preferred memorials are to the Evansport United Methodist Church Facility Improvement Fund. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
