The staff of Bryan Municipal Utilities will soon be reduced by two.
The board on Tuesday voted to eliminate the positions of assistant utilities director and purchasing agent effective June 30.
The board also passed a motion granting the board chairman or vice chairman the authority to sign legal documents until a new director is hired.
According to the Bryan Times, BMU employs 24 people in field work such as linemen and water technicians, plus 22 others as support staff.
