The Napoleon city manager survived a vote to dismiss her from her job at Monday’s Napoleon City Council meeting. Current city manager Monica Irelan’s dismissal was considered after the council met in executive sessions regarding economic development and personnel during Monday evening’s council meeting. The council voted and the motion to dismiss her was defeated 4-3. Irelan has served as city manager since May 2014. In March 2015, council approved an employment contract with Irelan that included a three-year pay increase and severance pay of six months salary if she is terminated.
