E. Harriett Lilly, age 80, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:45 A.M. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Lilly graduated from the Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing in Champaign, Illinois, and had a long career working as a registered nurse. She had been employed by Hicksville Community Memorial Hospital for fourteen years and later worked for Bryan Hospital, Hillside Country Living and then as a home health care nurse until her retirement. Mrs. Lilly was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Williams Center, Ohio, and Bryan Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
E. Harriett Lilly was born on October 14, 1935, in Humboldt, Illinois, the daughter of Charles William and Lois S. (Freesh) Fleming. She married Hanson C. Lilly on June 26, 1956, in Angola, Indiana, and he survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Colby Cook, of Issaquah, Washington; one son, Hanson Kyle (Laurie) Lilly, of Adrian, Michigan; her grandchildren, Colin and Claire Cook and Jenna, Kelsie, Hanson, Caleb and Whitney Lilly; two brothers, Charles William Fleming, of Humboldt, Illinois, and Russell Ernest (June) Fleming, of Bryan; one sister, Mary Jane (Charles) Taylor, of Mattoon, Illinois; and her nephews and nieces.
In keeping with Harriett’s wishes, her body was gifted to the University of Toledo Medical College.
Services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, and will be held at a later date.
Memorials are requested to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
