Dennis A. Holthues, age 60, of Pioneer, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at his campsite near Angola, Indiana. Mr. Holthues was a 1974 graduate of Edon High School and was currently employed by Letica Corporation in Fremont, Indiana, as a supervisor. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio, Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233, and Bryan Moose Lodge #1064 and was a Lifetime member of the PGA Partner’s Club and was a passionate Ohio State fan. He also enjoyed camping and was an avid golfer. Dennis was always willing to help others, expecting nothing in return, and was a great father and friend.
Dennis A. Holthues was born on June 25, 1956, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Jack and Ruthanna M. (Hildebrandt) Holthues. Survivors include two daughters, Alexis Holthues, of Elkhart, Indiana, and Ella Holthues, of Stryker, Ohio; his mother, Ruthanna Holthues, of Edon; one sister, Debra (Craig) Billings, of Dryden, Michigan; one brother, Doug (Ann) Holthues, of Wauseon, Ohio; nieces, Haley (Josh) Davis and Kristen (Chris) Floyd; nephews, Jacob Holthues and Jordan Holthues; and great-nephew, Chase Lassen. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.
Services celebrating the life of Dennis A. Holthues will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, at 4:00 P.M. with Reverend Roger Marlow officiating. The family will receive visitors in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be in Edon Cemetery.
