Secretary of State Jon Husted sent out around 7 million absentee ballot applications at the beginning of this month. He says more Ohioans are taking advantage of that option this year. Husted says Ohioans are returning those absentee ballot request applications at a record pace. Husted said so far, the state has had 524,000 absentee ballot requests which is 40,000 more than four years ago at this time. Husted says there isn’t one area of the state that is driving the higher numbers. He thinks the increase is due to more Ohioans being aware that they can vote by mail without leaving their homes.
