Tommy Johnson, age 64, of Hicksville, Ohio, died at 1:10 P.M. on Monday, November 14, 2016, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mr. Johnson was a heavy equipment operator and had been employed by Stoneco and worked out of the Scott and Auglaize Quarries. He was a member of the Operator Engineers Union and enjoyed fishing and fixing lawn mowers.
Tommy Johnson was born on July 25, 1952, in Jenson, Kentucky, the son of Andrew and Gladie (Cox) Johnson. He married Lois Joann Hall on May 14, 1977, in Junction, Ohio, and she survives.
Survivors also include one son, Ben (Bette-Sue) Johnson, of Hicksville; four grandchildren, Lydia, Abigail, Dacen and Emmalee Johnson; his siblings, Sue Yates, of Convoy, Ohio, Bobby Johnson, of Pineville, Kentucky, Ann Decker, of Convoy, Gary (Terry) Johnson, of Middle Point, Ohio, Linda Baker, of Ohio City, Ohio, Roscoe Johnson, of Convoy, Brenda Johnson, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lige Johnson, of Convoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Larry Johnson.
Services celebrating the life of Tommy Johnson will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Rose Hill Church of God, 17965 Road 138, Paulding, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Hofacker officiating. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., in the church. Interment will be private.
