Joseph E. St. John, 92, of Camden, Michigan passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Country Living of Hillsdale in Hillsdale, Michigan. He was born on June, 30, 1924 in Camden, to Arthur and Emma (Joseph) St. John. Joe graduated from Pioneer High School. On June 24, 1951, he married Donna I. Crago at Black Swamp Church of the Brethren in Millbury, Ohio and she preceded him in death.
Joe was a farmer. He was a member of Silver Creek Church of the Brethren in Pioneer, where he served as a Youth Leader alongside his wife for many years. Joe was the Amboy Township Treasurer for 34 years and he served on the Hillsdale County Soil Conservation Board for 27 years.
He is survived by one son, Allen (Carol) St. John of Camden, Michigan; one daughter Ann R. Wade of Waldron, Michigan; two grandchildren Ben St. John and Mindy Wade; and four great grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents; two sisters, Ruby Cole and Audrey Smith; and brother, Morris St. John.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Silver Creek Church of the Brethren in Pioneer. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Terry Baldwin to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer, Ohio. Donations may be made to the church.
