Napoleon City Council and the municipal properties, buildings, land use, and economic development committee met in a joint meeting Monday prior to the regular city council meeting to select the downtown streetscape improvements. Council selected the hybrid plan, which proved to be the most popular among the four streetscape improvements presented at the public forum Jan. 31. It had some elements of the other three, and will allow the current turn lanes to remain. The work will be part of the 2017 summer re-surfacing project. Sidewalk expansions will allow businesses to have activities such as sidewalk sales, and outdoor seating.
