Thelma A. Wilson, 98, of Alvordton passed away early Thursday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on October 6, 1918 in Napoleon Township to George G. and Martha (Gabers) Weirauch. In 1987 Thelma retired from Fayette Tubular after 22 years. Thelma loved sewing, traveling and Christmans. She enjoyed making others smile and always had a good time.
Thelma is survived by her two sons, Allen Wilson, Jr. of Montpelier, Ohio and Robert (Jean) Wilson of Alvordton; two daughters Sue (Darrel) Landel of Waldron, Michigan and Judith E. Graber of Alvordton; fourteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, thirty two great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild; two brothers, Rock Weirauch of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and Orville Weirauch of Napoleon; one sister Ruth (August) Schakow of Defiance; sister-in-law Mabel Wilson-Beard of Portland, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Allen A. Wilson in 1936, second husband Austin O. Wilson in 1994, son Larry, daughter-in-law Bonnie Wilson, grandson Duane (Cindy) Wilson, one sister Rose Dominique, and four brothers, Lyle, Raymond, Richard and Lawrence Weirauch.
Visitation for Thelma will be on Sunday, February 19th from 1-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Monday at 11am with Pastor Dan VanArsdalen to officiate. Private Interment will take place at a later date at Myers Cemetery in Defiance County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alvordton Fire Department or to a charity of the Donor’s Choice
