Rita A. (Blue) Wuebben, age 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 1:55 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she was a resident. Mrs. Wuebben was a 1945 graduate of Edgerton High School and attended beauty college in Fort Wayne, Indiana, becoming a licensed beautician. She had worked at Flo’s Beauty Shop in Edgerton and for many years was a clerk at the Edgerton Super Valu. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Edgerton Firemen Auxiliary.
Rita A. (Blue) Wuebben was born near Edgerton on December 28, 1927, the daughter of Guy C. and Agnes A. (Goebel) Cape. She married Kenneth Blue on June 7, 1946, in Edgerton and he preceded her in death on July 24, 1986. She then married Clarence H. Wuebben on May 6, 1989, in Edgerton and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2016.
Survivors also include her children, Scott (Barb) Blue, of Edgerton, Susan (Gene) Valovich, of Bluffton, Indiana, Terry (and longtime companion, Marijo Emenhiser) Blue and Steve Blue, both of Hicksville, Ohio; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, James (Becky) Wuebben, of Edon, Ohio, Elaine (Dennis) Pauken, of Portage, Ohio, Donald (Penny) Wuebben, of San Antonio, Texas, Teresa (Gary) Brown, of Bryan, and Allen (Sheila) Wuebben, of Kettering, Ohio; three brothers, Sherman (Rozella) Cape, Frank (Maralyn) Cape and Donald Cape, all of Edgerton; and one sister, Ellen Sleesman, also of Edgerton. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kermit, Paul and Conrad Cape; and one sister, Rose Mary Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, followed by recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Father James Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
