Barbara Ann Kinney, 89 years, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, where she had been a resident the past month. Barb was born December 9, 1927 in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Malolepza) Bonkoski. She was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Garrett, Indiana. Barbara married Edward Kinney on May 8, 1948 in Garrett, and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2012. Barbara worked for the former Greenisen Funeral Home as secretary and attendant from 1980 until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the St. Francis Circle at church. She was also a member of the Bryan Ladies of the Moose and the Bryan Ladies Bowling League. Barbara enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and working on puzzles. She loved the time she got to spend with her family.
Surviving are her three children, Cynthia (Thomas) Kerr of Bryan, Randall (Sue) Kinney of Wichita Falls, Texas and Debra (Jeff) Follett of Bryan; six grandchildren, Dax (Melissa) Kerr pf Brookfield, Ohio, Elizabeth (Thomas) Roeder of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Christa (Ty) Mallard of Flower Mound, Texas, Raymond Kinney of Dallas, Texas, Chelsea Follett of Wheaton Park, Colorado and Chase Follett of Columbus, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Liam and Cordelia Kerr, Brody, Carson, and Anderson Roeder, Maddox and Mackenzie Mallard; two sisters, Mary Shull of Auburn, Indiana and Joan Carteaux of Garrett, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; seven siblings, infants Leonard and Marion Bonkoski, Chester, Raymond, Joseph and James Bonkoski and Victoria Ley.
Visitation for Barbara Ann Kinney will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan where Rosary Services will begin at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Father John Stites officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
