Judith “Judy” Evelyn Abbott, a longtime resident of Montpelier, Ohio, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017.
Judy was born on July 5, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Carl M. and Imogene (Taylor) Dougherty, who preceded her in death. She married her husband of 37 years, Robert Charles Abbott on October 26, 1974, in Toledo, Ohio, and he also preceded her in death. Judy was an avid reader and seamstress and loved all things Ireland, especially her 2012 vacation. She prided herself on her computer skills and enjoyed helping others with their technology issues.
Surviving are her daughter, Shawn (Rick) Chambers, granddaughters, Erica and Chelsea, and all-time favorite, Donald Nelson. Also surviving are siblings, Janet Keller, Betty (Larry) Nickel and Richard (Eileen) Dougherty. The family wishes to thank all of her dear neighbors and Rowe’s breakfast club for their treasured friendship.
Private services will be held on Friday, May 12. “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields.”
