Rosalie F. Kahle, age 89 of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Otterbein Senior Living in Monclova. She was born on August 1, 1927 in Toledo to Joseph and Virginia (Slowinski) Dixon. Rosalie married Alvin Kahle on May 11, 1961; he preceded her in death on August 22, 2012. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Kahle; and daughter, Kathleen O’Neill.
Rosalie worked as a secretary for Surface Combustion in Toledo for 35 years. She was a faithful member of St. Richard Catholic Church and a member of the Swanton Lady Elks Lodge #2462. Rosalie enjoyed the Metroparks, especially Oak Openings. She was an avid reader and loved to work on crossword puzzles. Rosalie was a painter; all of her grandchildren enjoy her paintings in their homes and warm memories of fun holidays at their grandparent’s home over the years.
Rosalie is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa (Fred) Sturt; daughter-in-law, Lynn Kahle; son-in-law, Tom O’Neill; sister, Sylvia Winkle; and special niece, Beth Stewart. Rosalie will be missed by her grandchildren: Kelcey (Derrek) Kinzel, Troy (Shawn) Najarian, Meredith (Brian) Mursch, Brianne (Zach) Gillespie, Ryan (Nicole) Kahle, Katie (Julian) Giardello, Jamie (Bob) Roach, Kristen O’Neill, and Chelsea Sturt; great-grandchildren: Alyson, Jazmyn, Luca, Benjamin, Nico, Henry, Samantha, Walter, and Joseph.
A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Richard Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the St. Richard Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the House 5090 Staff at Otterbein in Monclova for the loving care they gave to Rosalie over the last four years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are recommended to St. Richard Catholic Church or Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices.
