Donald L. Gruver, age 71, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:12 P.M. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. Mr. Gruver was a 1963 graduate of Edgerton High School and went on to graduate from International Business College. He began his career in financial services with the Edgerton State Bank, where he worked from 1966-1986. He was then employed by MFI Investments, MidAm, Sky Financial and Continental Capital. He then went to Oberlin Financial and NRP. Currently he was working with Briskey Financial Services in Bryan, where he had been since 2012. He was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and enjoyed music, especially singing with the group Glory Bound 4, playing piano and cooking.
Donald L. Gruver was born on October 24, 1945, in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Donald L. and Ruby B. (Obendorf) Gruver. He married Spring M. Benjamin on April 16, 2012, in Butler, Indiana, and she survives him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Amy Gruver, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one son, Jeffery Gruver, of Edgerton, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Rachel, Caitlyn and Adam Gruver. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Marilyn Madoux, and a brother, Bill Gruver.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Edgerton Church of Christ with D.V. Dillinger, Minister, and Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
