Charles Eugene Stafford, age 77, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:06 P.M. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a brief illness. Mr. Stafford was employed by Edgerton Manufacturing until the closing of the plant and then for Edgerton Metal Products, retiring in 1995 when the plant closed. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering in his garage and yard and telling a good story.
Charles Eugene Stafford was born on June 26, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Henry Lee and Imogene (Brewer) Stafford. He married Norma Jean Canaday on April 9, 1960, in Kenova, West Virginia, and she preceded him in death on May 10, 2003. He then married Teresa E. Juarez on February 14, 2006, in Edgerton, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Lynn (Bill) Miller, of Edon, Ohio; one son, Charles A. Stafford, of Huntington, West Virginia; two stepchildren, Justina (Craig) Jarboe, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Flint, of Bryan, Ohio; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Hug; one brother, Melvin Stafford; and two sisters, including Caroline Stafford. Also preceding him in him death were his parents; one son, D. Eugene Stafford; and one brother, Jim Stafford.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
