Pioneer Police warns a “far-reaching” statewide scam is in full swing and residents should keep an eye out for it. Many are getting texts from unfamiliar numbers with the following prompt…SECURITY DEPARTMENT ALERT, PLEASE CONTACT HUNTINGTON BANK. Police say some of the texts will ask recipients to enter their Social Security numbers for “better service.” Police recommend not responding, not clicking any links and instead deleting the messages…they also stress to be extra careful giving out vital information, like your social security number in situations like that.
