Cleda M. Rice, age 102, of Farmer, Ohio, passed away at 11:30 P.M. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Rice was a 1933 graduate of Farmer High School and had been employed as a cook by Central Local School District for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Farmer United Methodist Church, Farmer Grange and Farmer Ladies Aide.
Cleda M. Rice was born on August 18, 1915, in Stanford, Illinois, the daughter of Lon C. and Jessie (Crusinberry) Dossett. She married Dale B. Rice on May 19, 1934, in Farmer, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1983.
Survivors include one son, Layel (Barbara) Rice, of Farmer; five grandchildren, Steven (Beth) Rice, of Sharon, Wisconsin, Kevin (Wendy) Rice, of Angola, Indiana, Larry (Shelly) Rice, of Ney, Ohio, Rick (Sharon) Rice, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Debra (Robb) Chadwell, of Noblesville, Indiana; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Jane Rice, of Bryan, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald E. Rice; a grandson, Gregory E. Rice; and a brother, Lyle Dossett.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Reverend Dwight Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Farmer Cemetery.
