Rachel R. Altaffer, age 42, of Bryan Ohio, died at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 12, 2018, shortly after admittance to Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Indiana, after a brief illness. Rachel was a 1993 graduate of Bryan High School and had worked at Walmart in Bryan for ten years. She was always into softball and other sports in school, but her love was softball, both as a player and an enthusiastic fan supporting her children while they played. She enjoyed going to the Amvets in Bryan and being with her friends and also her regular church attendence. Most important to her in life was that of being a devoted mother to her children.
Rachel R. Altaffer was born on May 26, 1975, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Robert Steven and Grace (Barrera) Hutchinson. She is survived by her parents in Bryan; three daughters, Alisha Altaffer, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and her twin girls, Renee and Kayla Altaffer, of Bryan; one sister, Rebekah Hutchinson, of Bryan; her nephews, Levi Hutchinson and Jesse Middleton; and her special friend, Aaron Horstman, of Ottawa, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 22, 2018, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Walter Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
