James “Jim” H. Tyson, age 79, of Wauseon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Orrin Tyson, Sr. and Pauline (Terrill) Tyson. Jim married Betty M. Dulaney on February 3, 1968 at North Dover Church and she survives. He was a employee of Bil-Jax for 16 years retiring in 2000. Jim attended Whitmer High School and was a member of the Gorham-Fayette Fire Department for 22 years. He was a avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He also was involved in the bowling league in Morenci for many years. Jim served in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Tyson, of Wauseon, Ohio. Children, Pamela Nofziger (Dave Fenton), of Wauseon, Ohio. Matthew Tyson, Sandusky, Ohio, David Tyson, Napoleon, Ohio, Dennis Tyson, Cleveland, Ohio. Sister-in-law; Yvonne Tyson, Wauseon, Ohio. Grandchildren, Jaren, Alyssa, Samantha, Cristina, and Molly. Great-grandchildren, Caleb, Addison, Sierra, and Ben. Brother-in-law, Richard and Ruthann Dulaney, Wauseon, Ohio. Many nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, son, Douglas, Brothers, Orrin, Jr., Robert, Richard, and Kenneth. Sister, Alma Van Buren.
Friends may call for time of visitation with the family 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018, in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 South Fulton Street, Wauseon, Ohio 43567. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday following the visitation in the funeral home. Pastor Floyd Vincent will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Humane Society or Fayette EMS or Wauseon EMS.
