Margie D. Brenner, 82

Margie D. Brenner, 82, of Montpelier, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at North Collier Hospital in Naples, FL. She was born on January 21, 1936 in Ottoville, OH to Joseph and Estella (Gasser) Miller. Margie graduated from Ottoville High School in 1953. On July 25, 1953 she married Carl E. Brenner in Ottoville and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2009.

Margie was the co-owner alongside her husband Carl of Miller’s New Market where she also managed the bakery. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, gardening and golfing. For the last 36 years Margie was a “true snowbird” who enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Her summers were spent enjoying time at the family lake house. Margie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier, where she was active with the Rosary Alter Society. She was also a member of the Montpelier Moose.

Margie is survived by two daughters, Carol (Tom) Houk and Becki (Greg) Snyder both of Montpelier; one son, Roger (Teresa) Brenner of Wauseon; daughter-in-law, Deborah Brenner of Cleves, OH; eight grandchildren, Tony (Debi) Houk of Plymouth, MI, Tiffany (Jeff) Noling of New Waterford, OH, Eric Brenner of New Albany, OH, Nicholas Brenner of Bryan, Jennifer (Ryan) Ambrose of Cincinnati, OH, A.J. Brenner of Wauseon, Dr. Marissa (Morgan) Locy of Hoover, AL and Bradley Snyder of Nashville, TN; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl E. Brenner, son, Carl J. Brenner, three brothers, Orville, Joe and Roger Miller and sister, Dorothy Bergfeld.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 12-6 p.m. with a scripture service at 5:00 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier with Father David Tscherne to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Donations may be given to Sacred Heart Church or Williams County Blood Bank.
