BRYAN DECIDES ON TWO STORY SCHOOL

The Bryan City Board of Education agreed at their Monday night meeting that the proposed new building for grades 6–12 will be designed as a two-story structure.

The two-story plan was approved following examination of architects’ estimates on the construction and maintenance of a one-story vs. a two-story building.

The Bryan Times reports that square footage would be the same, 148,880 square feet.

Initial construction costs for the two-story structure are projected to be $868,742 more, but over 50 years the maintenance for a one-story building would cost much more.
