Lavon L. “Skeet” Northrup, 41, of Defiance passed away Wednesday as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born May 1, 1977 in Montpelier to Lavon “Dusty” Lee Parks and Martha K. Norhtrup. Skeet attended Defiance High School. At a young age he attended the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene. He was employed by Fleetwash in Archbold.
He is survived by his mother Martha K. Riggs of Defiance; children Crimsyn Northrup, Arianna Northrup, and Leonidas Northrup; girlfriend and the mother of his children Jessica Shafer Northrup; sister Mellissa Northrup of Michigan; step brother William Riggs of West Virginia; grandmother Dorothy Parks of Montpelier; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Skeet was preceded in death by his father Lavon “Dusty”, step father Jarrett Riggs, paternal grandfather Homer Parks, maternal grandparents Gerald and Anna Northrup, uncles Michael Parks and David Northrup, and aunt Sherry Northrup.
Visitation for Skeet will be on Tuesday, May 15th from 10am-2pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Buttermore to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Memorial contributions may be given to Lavon’s children c/o Martha Riggs.
