Evelyn Marie Hoffman, 87 years, of Bryan, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where she had been resident. Evelyn was born November 16, 1930 in West Unity, Ohio, the daughter of the late Hercie R. and Etelka (Dotterer) Warner. She was a 1948 graduate of West Unity High School. She married Robert C. Hoffman on August 17, 1948 in Lexington, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2004. Evelyn served as the Williams County Recorder for 16 years, beginning in January 1985, and retiring in December 2000. She previously served as the Secretary to the Mayor of Bryan and as a Clerk for Judge Maxwell. She was a member of Bryan First Church of Christ as well as the Bryan Lioness Club. She served as a Precinct Election Official and was an avid supporter of the Williams County Humane Society.
Surviving are her four sons, Robert A. Hoffman of Lakeland, Florida, Kevin M. (Pamela Chao) Hoffman of Carmichael, California, Terry L. Hoffman of Bryan and Brian T. Hoffman of Napoleon; one sister, Pauline Boroff of Las Vegas, Nevada and one brother, Ned Warner of Paulding, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert and two brothers, Hercie Warner Jr. and John Warner.
Funeral services for Evelyn Marie Hoffman will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
