James A. “Jimmy” Moody, 57 years, of Bryan, went home to be with his best friend, Jesus, Friday, August 30, 2013 at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Centre after a short illness. He was born October 6, 1956 in Bryan, son of the late James B. and Dorothea M. (Beaviers) Moody. He was a 1975 graduate of Bryan High School. Jimmy worked as a clerk at the Shell Gas Station for the past 18 years. He was a devoted member of Eastland Baptist Church. Jimmy took six years of piano lessons and also played in the high school concert band. In school, he was well liked by all social groups. He enjoyed roller skating, bowling and attending high school football and basketball games.
Surviving is his stepsister, Vicki Whitlow of Bryan; two nephews, Travis (Crystal) Whitlow of Kansas City, Missouri and Jason Whitlow of Lancaster, Missouri; great-niece, Brenna Whitlow; He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Eilene Cupp Moody.
Memorial services for James A. “Jimmy” Moody will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Eastland Baptist Church, 1229 East High Street, Bryan with Pastor Jeff Sheldon officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.
