Wayne H. Goodlive, age 76, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away at 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 13, 1942, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after a brief illness. Mr. Goodlive was a graduate of Toledo Waite High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Bryan Metals and retired with fifteen years of service. His memberships included Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, Masonic Lodge, Northwest Chapter #45 Royal Arch Masons, St. George Commandery #76 Knight Templar in Cable, Ohio, Bryan Council #101, Zenobia Shrine where he was a member of the “Mystics”, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Montpelier Eagles Aerie #2246, Bryan Moose Lodge #1064 and Post #109 of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Montpelier Fire Department for fifteen years. Most of all, Wayne enjoyed spending time with friends at the lake, playing Mexican Train Dominoes and teasing friends and relatives.
Wayne H. Goodlive was born on February 13, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio the son of Wayne W. and Kathryn (Pierce) Goodlive. He married Jean M. Goebel on March 9, 1968, in Bryan and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Rob Goodlive, of Bryan and William Goodlive, of Defiance; and a brother, Gary Goodlive, of Winterhaven, Florida. He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Jodry.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan with Reverend Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Montpelier American Legion Post #109 and the United States Army Honor Guard.
