Bernard L. Schliesser, age 66, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his home. Mr. Schliesser was an electrician and owner of Bernie’s Electric from 1980-2010. Prior to that, he had worked at Chase Brass and Aro Corporation. Bernie was a member of the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren in Bryan where he volunteered his maintenance services. He also volunteered with the American Legion and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was an avid reader but was happiest when he was working on a project.
Bernard L. Schliesser was born on March 16, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Basil W. and Ethelinda (Siebenaler) Schliesser. He graduated from Hicksville High School, attended Ohio Northern University and graduated at the top of his class from Northwest State. He married Susan K. Rusk on June 16, 1973, in Hicksville, and she survives.
Bernie is also survived by his sons, Dr. Jason (Angela) Schliesser, D.C., of Monclova, Matthew (Bre’Ann Morris) Schliesser, of Bowling Green and Brandon (Sharon) Schliesser, of Toledo; grandchildren, Ethan, Addison, Makenna Schliesser, all of Monclova; brother, Ray (Vicky) Schliesser, of Chehalis, Washington, sister, Marian (Ted) Litzenberg, of Harlan, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held at Lick Creek Church of the Brethren in the near future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
