Noelia Gomez Flores, age 74, of Wauseon, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Swanton Valley Care Center in Swanton. She was born in Crystal City, Texas on December 28, 1944 to the late Francisco and Cleofis Gomez and attended Zone School near Fayette, where she was a softball pitcher. In 1961, she married Rito Flores, Jr., and he survives.
Noelia worked as a homemaker her entire life. She loved to cook and take care of her family. There was nothing better she loved to do than spend time with her family. She supported her grandchildren by watching all their sporting events.
Left to cherish Noelia’s memory are daughters, Anita Pant, Isabel Flores, Becky Flores, Debbie Flores, Susie Flores, and Christina (Miguel) Chapa; grandchildren, Tracy, Heather, Tyler, Marcos, David, Augustine, Torri, Veronica, Joey, Tara, Latasha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Mario, Michael, and Justus; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob, Richard, and Rosendo Gomez; sisters; Mary Serrato and Olga Salinas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Peggy Sue; brothers, Raynaldo, Mauriano, Fransisco, and Roy Gomez; and sisters, Lydia and Rosie.
A memorial service in Noelia’s honor will take place at Crossroads Evangelical Church at a later date. A period of visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. Inurnment of remains will take place at a later date.
