Mary Jo Jones, 58

Mary Jo Jones, age 58, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family at 7:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2013. She fought a long and hard battle with cancer, often times tackling it with great humor and using her illness as a chance to educate and encourage others that cancer is survivable. Earlier this year, she was named the Ambassador of Hope for the Edgerton’s Hope Crew for Relay for Life. A graduate of Edgerton High School, Mary worked at Hicksville Pharmacy. She loved to dance and was an amazing seamstress. She was always humming or singing and loved to karaoke with her family. She played an instrumental role in the annual Perry–Jones ATV Poker Runs, helping to donate over $40,000.00 to Williams County Hospice. She followed closely in her mother’s culinary footsteps as she loved to cook and bake. Mary was a lifelong member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and loved being around her children and grandchildren.

Born on November 14, 1954, in Bryan, Ohio, Mary was the daughter of L. Wayne and E. Margene (Dietsch) Perry. She married Darrin B. Jones on March 15, 1997, and he survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Amber (Jeremy Wheeler) Simmons, of Bryan; two sons, Scott Krontz and Wade Krontz, of Edgerton; one stepdaughter, Amanda Jones, of Bryan; and her grandchildren, Aubrey Jones Taylor, Mara Simmons, Scott Krontz II, MacKenzie Blevins, Emmitt Krontz, and Sophia and Arden Wheeler.

Also surviving are five brothers, Edward (Lori) Perry and Hugh (Jane) Perry, both of Edgerton, Tod (Ann) Perry, of Hicksville, Ohio, Lionel (Jackie) Perry and Monte (Jackie) Perry, both of Edgerton; five sisters, Angela Kennerk, of Edgerton, Candace Conley and Jestine Schmitt, both of Monroe, North Carolina, and Beth (Jeff) Winzeler, of White Lake, North Carolina. Mary is reunited with her daughter, Alicia Marie Pike, her parents, Wayne and Margene Perry, two brothers, Kevin and Stanley Perry, a nephew, Tom Kennerk, her father-in-law, Durward Jones, and two brothers-in-law, Lary Schmitt and Don Conley.

Services for Mary Jo Jones will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio, with Father David Cirata officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Edgerton. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton from 2-8 P.M. on Monday, September 23, 2013, with a scripture service at 8:30 P.M.
