Montpelier Police says scammers are using the department to solicit fraudulent donations. They say on Friday, someone reported a scam call. The suspect caller said they were collecting money for injured police officers, in the name of the Montpelier Police Department. The one taking the call asked a few questions, basically uncovering a scam. The department says to disregard such calls.
