Rolland “Doyle” Perkey, 78, of Bryan, passed away on May 2, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He was born on September 21, 1940 in Putnam County, Ohio to Rolland E. and Margine A. (Buckmaster) Perkey. Doyle graduated from Holgate High School in 1958. On April 30, 1960 he married Patricia “Ann” Swinehart at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier and she survives. Doyle honorably served in the National Guard for over five years.
He worked as a quality production manager at ITT Higbea in Archbold for 19 years. Doyle also worked for Handy & Harman in Angola for 12 years and P & J Industries in Toledo for 10 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Montpelier Moose. Doyle loved to play golf, work outside and spend time with his family.
Doyle is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia “Ann” Perkey of Bryan; one son, Mark A. (Nila Kulikowski) Perkey of Pensacola, FL; two daughters, Julie (Joe) Kohout of Napoleon and Karen (Chris Bramlage) Perkey of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Erica (Anthony) Godsey, Stephanie (Mark) Dreyer, Allison Tuley and Ryan Kohout; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Perkins of Lancaster, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7th from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier with Pastor Paul Gruetter to officiate. Doyle will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance. Donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church building fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
