The proposed merger of the Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District with the Northwestern Water and Sewer District clears another hurdle. Henry County water official cited mounting financial obligations, personnel issues and a need to find a more affordable water source. The Northwestern Board of Trustees approved moving forward as well at its June 13 meeting. The two utilities are among a group considering a plan proposed by Artesian of Pioneer to build a system, using water sourced from local underground aquifers.
