Harlan M. Coy, age 95, of Stryker, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Fulton county Health Center in Wauseon. Harlan had worked for the Spangler Candy Company in Bryan and then worked for General Tire in Bryan, where he retired in 1976. He was also a lifelong area farmer. Harlan was born in Bryan, Ohio on October 25, 1917, the son of Charlie and Emma (Sigg) Coy. On May 3, 1938 he married Donnabelle Impton, and she survives. He was a member of the Stryker United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Russell (Cindra) Coy of Ney, Ohio, Roger (Patty) Coy of Stryker, and Robin (Kim) Coy of Stryker; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clinton and Raymond, and one sister, Betty Grieser.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Chapel at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. Burial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday in the Chapel at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, with Pastor Charles Gautsche, officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
