Iris May Robertson, age 95, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:48 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance. Iris was an avid knitter, excellent historian, a great storyteller, loved trips to the casino and loved her grandchildren very much. She was also a part of the Welsh Society and was known for her Welsh accent.
Iris was born on July 12, 1924, in Pentre, Rhondda Valley, South Wales, the daughter of Thomas and Edith Rose (Weaver) Edwards. She married Glenn C. Robertson in 1943, in Coventry, England, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her three darling boys, David (Kathie) Robertson, of Bemidji, Minnesota, Thomas (Julie) Robertson, of Salem, Oregon, and James (Jennifer) Robertson, of Brighton, Michigan; three daughters, Elizabeth “Bette” (Gary) Civay, of Mansfield, Ohio, Margaret “Peggy” Blackwell, of Stanford, Kentucky, and Joanne (Jim) Henson, of Bryan; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Fisher-Crouch, of England; one brother, Thomas Edwards, of Vero Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two children, John and Rosemary; two grandchildren, Harvey Jr. and Jamie; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019, from 1:30-2:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, followed by a service at 2:30 P.M. Private interment will take place in Old Pleasant Township Cemetery.
