Leo “Skip” P. Lukaszek, Jr., 56, of Pioneer passed away Thursday night at Community Health and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on July 15, 1963 in Toledo to Leo P. and Caroline E. (Veale) Lukaszek, Sr. Leo graduated in 1982 from Rogers High School in Toledo. On September 18, 2010 he married Patricia L. Mercer in Pioneer and she survives.
Leo was currently employed at American Steel Products in Toledo as a Journeyman Millwright. Hunting and fishing were a huge part of his life. He loved to travel and it was nothing for he and Patricia to get lost for a few hours exploring new areas. Leo had a heart of gold and would do anything for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Pioneer; children Amanda (Andrew) Donaldson of Estes Park, Colorado, Corey Mick of Elgin, Illinois, Steven Lashaway of Montpelier, Chrystal (Michael) Kupfersmith of Pioneer, Melissa Lukaszek of Edgerton and Alyssa (Derek) Hasenbalg of Swanton; six grandsons and two granddaughters; siblings Keith Lukaszek of Montpelier, Michael (Jennifer) Lukaszek of Toledo, Jeffrey (Renee Lukaszek of Lambertville, Michigan and Sherry Lukaszek of Antioch, Illinois. Leo was preceded in death by his parents.
Leo will be laid to rest at a graveside service on Monday, June 22nd at 1pm at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
