Noe Hernandez, Sr., age 74, of Benson, Arizona and formerly of West Unity, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at his home after a lengthy illness. He worked at Hayes-Albion in West Unity before moving to Arizona. He retired from AFNI in Tucson. Noe was a member of Living Faith Fellowship in Benson and was a handyman around town in his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and metal detecting.
Noe Hernandez was born on January 16, 1946, in Mercedes, Texas, the son of Salome and Leonarda (Cantu) Hernandez. He married Deborah L. Frybarger on October 23, 1968, in Bryan, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Noe (Tammy) Hernandez, Jr., of Montpelier and Rudy Hernandez, of Bryan; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and sisters, Isabel Hernandez, of Bryan and Ofelia (Armando) Tijerina, of Harlingen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Leona Hernandez and Melissa Hernandez; a sister and five brothers.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, the family requests visitors use masks in accordance with state mandates.
