Mable E. Ware, 98

Mable E. Ware, 98 years, of Bryan passed away from heart failure as a complication of COVID on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Fountain Park Nursing Home, Bryan. Mable was born January 4, 1922 in Bryan, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Erma (McClure) Missler. She married Lester Clay Sprow in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1970. She then married Jerry Ware in 1978 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Mable began her working career at Ohio Art Company. She then worked in Ypsilanti, Michigan, wiring automatic flight controls for the B24 Bomber during WWII. Mable returned to Bryan and worked at ARO Corp. as a gun charger supervisor. She then returned to Ohio Art Company and worked as a press room inspector and in quality control. She was transferred to Emenee Stridel as a supervisor, retiring in 1979. After retirement, Mable and Jerry moved to Florida, where Mable lived for 22 years. Mable was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she lovingly taught 8th grade catechism classes for six years. Mable was also a member of the Eastern Star, was the first president of the Bryan Auxiliary Women Fire Department, Bryan Professional Women, and president of the Bryan Women Bowling League. Mable had a passion for music and helped direct, conducted, and write music for the music group “LaCasa Harmanicas” for 18 years. She also was the owner of Davy-Lee Dress Shop in Bryan for five years. In her free time, Mable enjoyed painting pictures and crocheting blankets to give to many people on different occasions.

Surviving is her daughter, Pat Squires of Bryan; grandson, Jon Ashbaugh of Stryker; granddaughter, Stacey Squires of Canadagua, New York; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Lana) Missler of Bryan; many nieces and nephews. Mable was preceded in death by her two husbands; four brothers, Carl Missler, Paul Missler, Andrew Missler and Marlin Missler; two sisters, Thelma Spangler and Georgia Kinzer; companion, Darrell Bailey.

Due to the pandemic, the family will hold private family services. Interment will take place in Brown Cemetery, Bryan. Services are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.
