David A. Geren was born on April 7, 1936, near Bryan, the son of Lester Grant and Mary (Rosendaul) Geren, and was raised in the Montpelier, Ohio, area. Upon graduation from Montpelier High School in 1954, he started working at Ohio Art Company and met Doris Weber while they both worked on the “Dime Bank Line.” They married on June 2, 1956, and he became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan. In 1960 he went to work at Hayes Albion 50 Division, from where he retired in 1998.
Dave and Doris enjoyed summer camping with their children from 1964 on and attended a Lutheran Church in the camping areas. Dave was a very avid fisherman until a couple of years ago when his health slowed him down. They were winter bowlers on doubles leagues and separate men and women leagues until shortly after retiring.

Also surviving are one brother, Tom (Judy) Geren, and one sister, Margaret Warner, both of Montpelier. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Bill Buehrer, Charles Geren and John Geren.
