Ronald MacFarlane, 73

Ronald G. MacFarlane, Sr., 73 years, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, Bryan, Ohio.  Ron was born July 15, 1940 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of the late Rodrick Bruce and Agnes Zona (Kollhoff) MacFarlane.  He was a graduate of Flint High School.  He married Jean Salmon, and the marriage produced four children.  He then married Pauline Salsini and the marriage ended.  He married Ruth Carlin, and she preceded him in death.  Ron was a janitor for the Flint Area Schools for 18 years.  He was an active member of Grace Community Church and volunteered many hours in the ministries there.  Ron was known as a man committed to his faith in the Lord, and a man of prayer.  He was a former member of the Masons, the Moose Lodge and the Michigan Rambler’s CB Club which raised funds for the Jerry Lewis Telethon.

Surviving are his four children, Ronda (Tony) Garbin of Bryan, Ronald MacFarlane of Camden, Michigan, Rene (Matt) Hurd of Bryan and CW2 Michael (Jana) MacFarlane United States Army, of Fort Riley, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Liz MacFarlane of Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles MacFarlane.
